Do we need heroes?
Tuesday, July 29, 2008

I am not a batman fan and just watch the sequel moive, the dark knight, that set some food for thought...

In Gotham City, the citizens "hero" was the batman, who taper off crime rates and the villians would only hold meetings in broad daylight. However, when a person's life is at stake, he was considered an outlaw and was voted to be hand over to the city's fiend, the joker.

So, do we really need a hero? or they are just a symbol of security to comfort our weak mind and heart? A person whom we can easily betray as he only lives in our heart. From the movie, I understand that it is not an easy task to stand up as a hero. Firstly, you need a postive image that was potrayed by harvey, a just antonny to bring the villians to custody. No mistake or negative feelings could be shown to the public or the trust would deminish. That's why the commisioner and batman would try their best to protect harvey's justice while the joker tries to draw him to the dark side.

Heroes are characters fabricated by media and people with weak mindset. Sometimes we really need them in a desperate situation and solace our pain hoping they would punish the villians whom we are afraid to trifle. However, once we see their negative side, they would lose their popularity.
